Guest guest
Wow those numbers are sobering. I can't help but wonder how many have suffered but not been diagnosed before. Our son, Tyler, experienced symptoms that make sense in hindsight 20/20 you know. He has complained with abdominal pain off and on for 10 years. It has been brought to his pediatrician's attention with yearly visits, labs and checkups. Nothing pointed to a diagnosis until he was hospitalized with Cholangitis 2 years ago. He was very, very sick. He lost 35 pounds in a month, was hospitalized for 11 days. The final diagnosis came with the liver biopsy of stage 3, PCS. Two years later, PSC progresses and his symptoms progress. It's a day to day journey. Good days and bad days. Fatigue, Pain, Itching, Chills, Fatigue and did I mention Fatigue. This is Tyler's everyday life. We homeschool and thankfully so....he can't make it through a full days lesson because of the fatigue and trouble focusing. All this for the day to day life of a 16 year old. Ok....I'm off my soap box! Mom to Tyler age 15 DX Oct 2006 PSC, DX Sep 2008 Portal Hypertension and Renal Cysts. New year...new news.
