I'm sorry you're feeling so scared right now. I know everyone here can relate. We've all been there. :-) I actually spent more time with denial and anger than with fear. But we're all different. It's nice that you have such a wonderful supportive wife. I think that must be such a boon! As I live alone, I often wish for someone to help with the household chores, or to have right there for immediate moral support when it's needed. I think finding a local support group is a good thing. I never realized how beneficial they could be until I found this group. Being in this group has made a huge difference for me. My best friend (male) also has CFS but he's not a person to put up with an email group. So i've decided to join the list so I can learn about both so I can help and be supportive to my girlfriend and friend. They say take it day by day, but I say take it step by step.
