Guest guest
Hi Sue, I vote for the Rheumy......He sounds just like my first Rheumy.....he was a Proffessor of Rheumatology at the North Texas University Oseopathic Hospital where I was taken, when I was in a coma......he diagnosed the Lupus while was the coma , and treated me for 4 years before he left to work at another teaching Hospital......He was always the one the T.V. Anchors would interview about autoimmune disorders.....when there would be rumours of "Cures". I have not found a Rheumy as good as he was since he left. One of his partners took over my case, and he is an excellent Doctor, but he just didn't have the " Bedside Manner" of Dr. Foreman......then I lost Dr. Pertusi when He dropped my insurance. So sad.....I have been on a quest for a good Rheumy now for over a year,now.....they are so few and far between......and they have to be on my insurance network of doctors. C. Re: re: Sue from Micha Hi Micha! Its so nice to hear from you! I actually have not went for the bloodwork yet for the liver panel they want to do. I guess I have been putting it off....have to do it tomorrow though as its my husbands last day of vacation and he can watch Jake while I am in the office. I have a delema now...I have two doctors I see(not counting my primary doctor)..My pain management doctor who I have seen for 4 years....he has been treating me for neuropathy that suddenly appeared and for a disk herniation in my back...when I started to have pain all over and was feeling bad he referred me to my Rheumy that I see.....when my liver enzymes were elevated I called both doctors to tell them I thought I should be off the drugs that have tylenol in them...they both were giving me something that had tylenol in it...Pain doctor was giving me lortab, and Rheumy was giving me darvocet..so after a week of calling and calling they both finally got the bloodwork results saying my enzymes were high....they both said I could stay on the drugs they had prescribed!! My levels weren't that high! However my pain doctor doesn't want me on two narcotics and was mad that the rheumy had me on darvocet..but rheumy said if it helps me then it helps me...when I was talking to the rheumys nurse she said I should perhaps think of just have one doctor instead of having two....that way there would be no problems about my medication...I see my pain clinic doctor on the 20th of July and the rheumy appointment I had moved up to the 24th of July...but who do I pick? I really think my rheumy is more into what is wrong with me...he is a specialist for lupus and had written books on it and FM, my pain doctor has been very close to me and always sends me out for tests right away when I say I feel bad....he is responsible for them finding the neuropathy and ultimately sending me to the rheumy that found the lupus/mcdt...so what do you think? You all have to decide for me! lol I do sometimes feel the need to get out and "do" something more than what I am doing. But as time goes on I know I wouldn't be able to handle it...watching my grandson is a blessing as I know that one day he will be in school and how often will I see him then? I don't want to waist any time. You said you chose to be free...it sounds as if you are very content with that too. Friends are invaluable and what we would do without them? They are a special blessing from God...just think of all the people we meet in our lives and yet a small few remain in our lives. Thats no accident. I have a freedom that I didn't have when I was younger..I am a bit more sure of myself, of course I make more mistakes too! Hope you are feeling good and having lots of good days! love from--->Sue "The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!"
