vicodin is a stronger pain med, can be addicting, doctors are hesitant to

use it, but can be quite helpful in some cases. look at Ultram if you

have not, its safer, takes a while to see if it helps, boosts some

people's energy and mood, can make you a bit tired unless you cheat and

take anacin with it one person said...so they take the tylenol and

caffeine instead with it. I'm not sure how the liver likes that, always

check with your doctor!

vioxx is a newer anti inflammatory like celebrex, supposed to be easier

on the stomach but not always, can have some serious side effects. Dr

gave me a sample, took one and was so dizzy and nauseated I thought I was

going to die!

Sulfurzyme is a supplement that helps with inflammation and pain by

regulating the cellular fluids, more swelling, more pain. most of our

diets are deficient in sulfur unless you eat tons of veggies. my husband

takes that instead of popping nuprin since he dislocated his knee years

ago chasing a criminal. it also helps promote better GI lining to prevent

leaky gut syndrome, the contant irritation of the meds cause the lining

to let some things in that it should not then they get into the tissues

and joints causing more pain.

be SURE to read labels, take with food and lots of water, the doctor

ordered celebrex for me since I could not tolerate vioxx, the secretary

called in celexa, an anti-depressant I had a reaction to! yikes!

most people with FM have trouble with side effects to a much greater

degree, our bodies are just sensitive, the more medications you require,

the more challenging to tell if its a drug side effect or the illness

itself. Prevacid and Prilosec and Reglan almost killed me several years

ago. I went 9 weeks where I was so nauseated I could not eat. I kept

asking if it was the meds so finally I quit that doctor and stopped the

meds, added an enzyme tablet to help balance digestion and finally got

back on my feet. those drugs that shut down the stomach acids interfere

with proper digestion, you need a proper pH balance. often they are given

to help with the side effects of anti inflammatories.

most people with FM do not have true inflammation unless they have a

recent injury or co-existing arthritis.

lots of info on the web to read about side effects, always good to know

and some site let you look for interactions of medications. some meds

take time to see if they help. ALL supplements need more time as they are

helping the body heal, not a quick fix. and be sure they don't interact

or have side effects (like sun sensitivity)

its your body, know what you're putting into it!

Blessings,

Marie
