Guest guest
I will kindly take some credit for that...But I must pass credit off to my pal sue the diabetic gardener who gave me the origional tip off... I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! I am now just a swiss chard junkie, and I find myself actually craving it...I love it steamed with a bit of margarine and fresh pressed garlic!!! AAAAHHHH! As well, I understand that it is terribly easy to grow. I am depleting Sue's stash weekly, as I did not discover it until recently. But, anyone who has grown spinache can tell you that if you don't check it constantly, it shoots up and becomes unusable. The swiss chard does not do that. It just gets a bit bigger and just as tasty. After you cut it off, it just keeps re-growing. So, next year I will have the equivelent of a swiss chard plantation here. LOL Missy > Thanks to whoever it was that posted a suggestion for swiss chard. You > mentioned it being more nutritious than spinach, so I bought a bunch of red > swiss chard. Guest guest
Hello Jackie:) WOW!! I am so thrilled for you!! I remember when I first started my diet and how quickly I felt the changes! It is an incredible feeling!! Swiss chard is very delicious! I was wondering, Jackie, if you had tried fresh squeezed juice yet? I know that the fresh juice gives me a lot of energy that lasts for most of the day! And not to mention it is fun coming up with different blends. A good blend, that may sound disgusting but is very very good, is: 2 celery, 2 apples, and 2 carrots. Another good blend is: 2 apples, 2 oranges, 1 banana, 2 carrots and either strawberries or grapes. Mmmm both are very delicious. If you are interested, or anyone else, I can post on here the various vitamins our bodies need and the symptoms if a person is deficient. I could'nt believe how many symptoms I had from this list. Also I can list the food source for each vitamin. One more question are you also taking a good multivitamin? It is really helpful to start a good multivitamin when you start the veggie diet. The way I understood it the daily intake of vitamins and minerals from your diet is important because they give your body all that is necessary for each day but, because we have been ill for an extended period of time, the multivitamin helps in repairing that long term damage. I know that it also helped me to increase my excercises and gave me additional energy. Hope this helps:) I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well Jackie! WooHoo!! Have a wonderful day, peace and blessings always, Mick avonrepjackie@... wrote: Thanks to whoever it was that posted a suggestion for swiss chard. You mentioned it being more nutritious than spinach, so I bought a bunch of red swiss chard. I LOVE it so much! I'm starting to feel the effects of my diet change. I'm also getting daily sunshine & walking. Yesterday I was able to clean a flat of strawberries all at one time, standing at the sink and cutting off the greens, getting them ready for the fridge. That was in the morning before I even took my bextra for the day. That's a big improvement, DH used to make me breakfast in the morning so I could take my meds, then I'd stay in bed till I felt ok enough to walk around and do anything. This morning I cleaned, chopped and prepared a breakfast of fresh garlic, onions, red swiss chard and spinach. It doesn't sound very much like a breakfast meal but it was what I wanted and my goodness it was great. I'm keeping a bowl of strawberries around for snacking too. I'm eating red fruits every day since I learned about the anti inflammatory properties they have. (Cherries, ruby red grapefruit, watermelon, berries etc) Jackie avonrepjackie@...
