Guest guest
Hi All, I pop in here from time to time...don't have enough time in the day to keep up. But I wanted to post the latest Thyroid test results I got today. I've been on 2 grains of Thyroid-S for about 2 months and it has helped me tremdously. Well, I saw my regular doctor (Dori Mc at Kaiser) Tuesday and told her I had been self medicating. She gave me a very stern talk about how I need to consult with her first and then she sent me to the lab for Thyroid testing. Before I went to the lab, though, she said she wasn't opposed to me taking it and that she will prescribe Armour...Yeah!! It will be a lot cheaper through Kaiser Permanente. Anyway, she only tested my TSH and my Free T4. No Free T3 test! Well, here are the results: TSH is .01 (.028 - 5.8) FT4 is 1.0 (0.28 - 5.00) This is too low, isn't it?? I'd like any and all comments, if you will. Thanks everybody for being there! This is a truly great place!! Tressie in Oregon PS: She also told me there is a Thyroid movement going on out there and she had a patient come in a few days before me with a thick stack of Thyroid in from the internet. I'm not sure what she thought about that! lol ________________________________

Guest guest
VERY CRAZY, huh!! I was on 2 grains but she cut me back to one until these test results came back. She's on vacation but will call me on Monday. The only adverse things I noticed on the 2 grains was a little return of hotflashes and I think my heart rate is higher. Like around 104. > In a message dated 3/20/2005 12:01:15 AM Eastern Standard Time, > Tressie.johnson@a... writes: > > > She also told me there is a Thyroid movement going on out there > > lol. hypo folks starting a " movement " ...will wonders never cease? > cindi > > >
Guest guest
I didn't get that top number written down so I'm probably off on it. > The new TSH recommendation is .30-2.5 . Are you sure that is the range for the FT4? It is usually a lot smaller number than the high range you posted?

I'm not sure what she thought about that! << This is SO cool! We are being HEARD!!! And making a difference! Yes your Free T4 looks a little low still but you need to talk her into the Free T3 too, and take her some of the great articles about why the TSH is so useless once you are on treatment! *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Guest guest
I know! She even told me not to tell my Endocrinologist! tee hee! I'm hoping she'll read the info the other patient brought in and I plan to bring some to her also. She was just going by the TSH!! Wonder what my docs reaction will be??? > >TSH is .01 (.028 - 5.8) > >FT4 is 1.0 (0.28 - 5.00) This is too low, isn't it?? > > Yeah, your FT4 is WAY too low, but your doc is going to freak and say you're hyer 'cause your TSH is so low.
