Just depends on which dr's observations sound the best to the person doing the research. If you were to go to a Broda dr exclusively, supposedly, adrenals is a first consideration for hyper or hypoT. Some also believe that iodine helps with either, hypo or hyper. I myself can't take iodine anymore. I suffer for days after eating shrimp. I used to eat it and loved it for most of my adult life. Can't handle it now. Has to be the iodine. I've been hyperT/Graves and hypo. The best dr's are the ones we can't afford. If ya find one like 's therapy, other dr's laugh and the treatment is too expensive, so how many people are 'really cured' of their ails cuz they aren't able to fund long term treatment? Then there are those of us who've finally had to say enough is enough. Our health is shot, and our money is sparse, and our nerves have worn thin. We start off reading and learning and have to just jump in with both feet. We try armour and pray that it works. For those of us who take to it like ducks to water, we're ecstatic. For those that don't do so well, they have to do the legwork to get their ferritin and adrenals checked. Sometimes I honestly wonder if we're not all just stumbling in the dark. Then there are places who say this cleanse and that cleanse will make you better, and heal this and that? Who knows what the true origin is. Each Dr seems to have different theory's. It's just what sounds most reasonable to the person who's doing all the research. Everything I've read about Armour helping things has rang true. It's the one true constant in many of our lives. And for others, it's naturethroid or other equivalents. SandyE~Houston Re: * CINDI So, what do you think is theorigin of the problem for being hypo? In my case, I know Hashi's is the origin, which is genetic. For some folks, it might be stress has caused thyroid dysfunction. Mercury may be binding up thyroid receptors. Certain drugs may have effected thyroid functioning. Those from abusive backgrounds may have thyroid dysfunction. Lack of iodine in some locations causes it. cindi

I just think one needs to think about their own individual situations first..and not jump too quick. Maybe I can explain this by saying that when my body was sick from not having enough thyroid hormone - what it needed was thyroid hormone. Once it got that, it started its own healing process. And healing from a thyroid hormone deficiency can take months and months. But I know my body was far too weak initially to have been doing cleanses. it was just too sick. This may not be the case for everyone...but I think one does have to consider whether getting thyroid hormones back up there...whether it should be top of the list...and then cleanses later if one thinks it is needed. But not everyone is at the same point in their hypo - so this just has to be considered. Cindi
Guest guest
Thanks Cindi, Those things make sense...I had posted that becasue I got the felng that most folks were thinking that Hypo was the underlying cause of everything, but as ou list, there are the underlying things that produce the hypo in the first place. That is what I was after. I am wondering if we can add envoronmental toxins and and heavy metals to the mercury that clogs receptor sites.... ~Inga > wolfiebear@... writes: > >> So, what do you think is theorigin of the problem for being hypo? >> (Please don't throw tomatoes at me...) >> > > i think it can be any number of things...and it's probably good to at least > try to determine the reason...but not totally necessary. > Lack of iodine in some locations causes it. > cindi > > >
