I love massages, but on a painful day I would cancel an appointment.

Could be the masseuse is pressing too hard; this is where you have

to speak up and tell them what you need -

Also, have you ever had ice massage? It's dreamy! Takes away the

pain. My therapist would freeze ice in the tiny bathroom cups, then

rip away most of the paper, leaving her with a large chunk of ice with which

to rub my neck, shoulders and back muscles. She says you either love it or

hate it! I love it, and I often rub ice on my shoulders or neck muscles when

they are hurting -

Just the thought of ice on anywhere on my body makes me cringe! I am

very sensitive to cold and ice would make me hurt for a week! The only

time I've used ice is when I have a really bad headache that won't go

away, I put an ice pack on my neck, but can't tolerate it for very

long. I only use it in extreme cases.

I prefer hot to cold most times - I take hot showers, even when its hot

outside (it does have a cooling effect when you get out), I prefer warm,

even hot weather to winters.

Its funny how different things are good for some and bad for others.

I had forgotten all about these! I use to use them when my knee went

bad. They weren't bad. Guess I ought to try them for various aches and

pains. Thanks for reminding me about them. They're easier to hold than

a bag of peas to your head.
