Is Mayo the Best Place (answer to Serbrina)

Hi! I hope this e-mail finds you having a great day! I think there are a lot

of us that go to Mayo, but I'm not sure if we're the majority or not. I

wouldn't think there's truly a way to measure that (although I'm sure somebody

will come up with something!).

In any case, I am one of the ones who go to the Mayo Clinic and I do strongly

recommend them. However, if you're happy with your health care, I wouldn't

start to doubt them just because they are not Mayo. There are plenty of other

wonderful doctors and hospitals in the world. If you're feeling a bit uneasy or

just want to reassure yourself, you could always make a " second opinion " appt at

one of the Mayo Clinics and just use it to make sure your current doctors are on

the " right page. " Of course, that is a bit of a financial (and possibly travel)

undertaking, but it is an option.

In short (too late, I know!), I wouldn't second guess healthcare just because

it's not coming from the Mayo Clinic. If your doctors are knowledgeable,

compassionate and familiar with PSC, I'm sure you're in a good place!
