Guest guest
Back to the clinic again, since I had respiratory problems all day yesterday and last night. I have never had asthma or any respiratory problems before, so I'm totally new to this. I got a breathing treatment and sat there for a few hours on O2, and I'm not feeling so gaspy now, but I don't understand why it happened. The doc seemed to think this was related to this ongoing infection, something in my lungs, but I don't understand what. Chest x-ray was fine. I raise rats, so now she's testing me for mycoplasma, which is a respiratory infection all rats have latent in them (and most activate later in a rat's life). But since it's coupled with this resurgence of my FM, new exacerbation, I'm wondering how if at all this is interrelated. I've had this same infection for close to two months now, starting my fourth try on antibiotics, and it's just making me miserable. I got Rocephin and solumedrol shots, inhaler, all kinds of crap, but all I want is for this infection to GO AWAY. Has anyone else struggled with intractable infections? And of course work gives me no end of s**t when I call in sick, but the doc said to just stay put for a couple of days so that I wouldn't start having breathing problems again. Here we work in a hospital, but WE can't get sick. Sorry to vent, just had a really rough couple of days and am really not sure what to do.
