Guest guest
Glad you found us ee! My name is Cheryl. I have had lupus since a teen and raised 2 kids with it. I didn’t know why I was sick all the time. I didn’t get a dx until in my 40’s. I used to be on the hated Prednisone too. I was always taught NEVER GO OFF OF IT COLD TURKEY. They make you taper off of it slowly. The other thing a good Dr. will do is start with something lighter first. I am glad you are going to see a Rheumy. Can you go to another and get a second opinion? Please don’t every be embarrassed about crying in a Dr.’s office!! Most of us have done it! I am a big crybaby myself. Some of those creeps won’t take you seriously unless you get mean or cry. Isn’t that right lupies? Welcome to our group, feel comfortable to whine, crab, scream, ask questions, tell jokes, or just say hi! We understand because share a common problem that no one else can understand in full. I appreciate the chance to talk with you as I know that many of you are experiencing some of the same things I am or already have experienced them. I'm 25 years old, married, with two little boys (almost 3 and 19 months). I work part time nights as a sleep lab technician. I have been diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) by my general practitioner but he is a bit timid in treating me and seems to only know one word when it comes to treatment -- Prednisone. medication. This doctor told me to go home, go off the prednisone, get sicker, and come back. That's when I started crying in his office (how embarrassing huh).
