Hi ;

Sorry to hear about your finger and nail problems; I honestly don't know whether

they could be liver related. It might be good to visit a dermatologist to see if

they can help you with them. The skin splitting away from the nails sounds very

painful.

Best wishes,

It sounds like you might be experiencing nail clubbing, which can be related to

liver disease and IBD. The two links below explain the disorder. The second one

gives a pretty good picture of the disorder. I am note sure it the skin

splittting would be related to this or even if this is what you are experiencing

but the sights may provide you with more information

between the top finger joints and finger tips - this includes my thumb. I think

they are very slightly swollen, visually they don't appear swollen, but when I

clench my fingers into a very light fist, (it is impossible to make a tight

fist), the skin under my finger nails goes white and the top finger joint also

goes white.... (OK I can see you all flexing and unflexing your fists..grin).

But the worst part is that the skin where it joins the base of my finger nails

is splitting away from the nail, it does heal then splits again. Would this be

liver related? Tt first glance my hands look normal.
