Guest guest
I am sending out my fundraising letters for the Road to Chicago. It was three years ago, that I discovered PSC (diagnosed in my son) and PSC Partners Seeking a Cure. Finding PSC Partners and this website and all of you was wonderful. I was a mess... I read nearly every post that had occurred since the website was started. I signed up for the Pittsburgh conference. I heard about the Virtual Walk to raise money for PSC research and I immediately started asking friends, family, co-workers for donations. I HATE asking for donations! Yet, for PSC research, each year for the past three years, I MAKE myself do this... for my son, for you or your family, and for anyone else who may be diagnosed with PSC at any time in the future. Last year, I really did not want to ask people for donations again. When I said this to my sister, she said, " If you don't ask, who will " ... so I asked and people willingly and generously donated. And now PSC Partners is evaluating at least 14 international research proposals asking us to fund their research! The opportunity to support these research proposals and participate in the STOPSC research is possible because of the fundraising through the Road to ville and the prior Virtual Walks. I am sending out Lee Bria's letter, which I updated just a little. I'll attach it. Also attached are the PSC labels that my husband made for the return envelopes. Last year I found it worked so well to send return envelopes, addressed, and I also pre-stamped them. Information about printing the return labels are below. I encourage everyone to participate, even by only asking one or two people that care about you or your loved one with PSC. Most people would rather give to a cause where they know the person! Most people would like to give to a foundation that is run by volunteers and has less than 2% overhead costs (most have 15 to 30% overhead, or maybe more). People care about you! Plus we have an extremely generous matching donation of $45,000 - so every donation, no matter how large or small, is doubled! And 100% of the Road to Chicago donations fund research for PSC! (Ricky, please correct me if I gave any incorrect information!). My birthday is in 2 weeks and I ask everyone to donate to PSC and please don't buy me any frou-frou's or gadgets. PSC return envelope mailing labels for Road to Chicago contributions. I borrowed the PSC Partners logo from the website. These print fine on HP Laserjet printers in either color or black and white. They print from Microsoft Word onto sheets of 20 1 " x4 " Avery Labels (5261) available at OfficeMax, Staples, etc. Note that if the address field gets longer or shorter, the logo gets enlarged or shifted, etc., they may not fit within the label boundaries.
