Surgery is scheduled for.......

Hi everyone,

Just another quick update to fill you all in

on the date of surgery. Next Wednesday is the big day. Won’t know of the exact time till tomorrow sometime.

The Dr. has already spoken to my hematologist and my

neurologist and both plan on being around for the surgery because of

complications. He already plans on having an IV antibiotic plus he said he and

the hematologist would feel safer having blood ready for the “just in

case” scenario. Plus there is a shortage on my blood type up here so they

want to make sure they have it “just in case”.

Gotta love having prior bad experiences on the OR table to

worry my medical team.

I do not plan on having a telephone turned on because I don’t

need one J Surgery will

be at RGH.

As of right now I WILL be staying with mom for a few days

after I am released but then again I may change my mind J Depends on

how I feel when Tuesday comes around next week before I make my final decision.

I had the video procedure today and after it was done the

Dr. viewed the video with me and was pointing out all the things he will be

doing during surgery. WOW there is a lot he needs to do – it was neat but

then again it was weird because I was like ewwww I’m looking at inside my

body… lol we both got a good laugh on that one. He also showed me the

nodule he will be removing and having a biopsy done on. It was not pretty to

say the least.

It is the full blown general anesthesia so even though the

procedure itself only takes about an hour he wants a 2 hour slot in the OR in

case of my famous prior experiences. I was amazed when he had told me he had

already been in contact with some of my medical team and their plans. He said

he had already planned on having the surgery next week because he said this

needs full attention NOW he said he can’t believe I have waited this

long. I was like “Hello I didn’t know of this until I came to see

you” and that was just last week. He laughed and said well it should have

been done at least a month ago and the reason he is pushing to get it done this

quick is because the longer it waits the more damage that is being done. He has

been changing other patients schedules around for me. J That makes me

feel good in a way but then it also scares me as well. Oh well I guess I just

gotta go one day at a time as I normally do.
