Guest guest
Had a close friend do this surgery...sorry to say, he put the weight back on. Weight watchers is one of the nationally know programs which helps get the weight off and keep it off. The surgery addresses the problem, not the cause. Treat the cause. Sorry to be so blunt but I am undergoing a weight loss program (since last Sept) and seen what excess weight can do. Guest guest
Hello skyangel. for the last few weeks i've been researching getting stomach surgery too. Someone just sent me to a wonderful site from the stomach bypass club in yahoo...http://www.obesityhelp.com . I know there are very serious risks and complications with this surgery. I even know of one who ended up really messed up afterwards..but hers was done fifteen years ago. I think you have to weigh the pros and cons very carefully. I have made no decisions yet, but I do know this. Fibro is ruining my life..and my weight is making it worse. they seem to feed off each other. Do I risk losing everything, or live in pain and misery when there is a chance it could be better. This seems to be the most permanent solution to my problem. > > > > > > > > > ===== > > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
Although Atkins is controversial, I believe that it is the best diet for many people that gain weight on carbs. I personally don't lose much when eating carbs (and eating them only makes me crave them more) and so I am doing a low-fat version of Atkins. It was recommended by my Endocrinologist that monitors my diabetes. I have insulin resistence and so I do not lose weight well on weight watchers. I started Atkins back up on Sunday (today is Friday) and I have already lost 7 lbs. For people that don't lose on exchange diets, Atkins is a very good way to go. Don't believe all controversy. For some people carbs just are not making them healthy. I do admit that I think the Atkins diet is a little fatty though. I dont' eat bacon and brats on a regular basis. I do eat cheese in moderation though. Sincerely, Pamela Rauch Re: Hi everyone Skyangel Had a close friend do this surgery...sorry to say, he put the weight back on.
