Guest guest
I quit Synthroid for Armour a month ago. I feel a little better, but not as good as I expected. I think I need to up the dose, doc says wait 8 weeks to retest first. Is this right? I know that was the norm for Synthroid, but I keep reading here about upping doses on a schedule.... any info? Fatigue, weight gain that isnt even funny, old feeling and looking. Just wiped out basically. Just flipping tired and tired of. I am taking the Armour 4 times a day. Thanks,

NO that us usually not right, even on the Armour insert it says to increase by 15 MG every 2-3 weeks. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? We would never, ever recommend that someone who's been on T4-only meds " start " on 2 3/4 grains of Armour. As she has stated later in her post, everyone could be sensitive to the introduction of direct T3 to their systems, and may need to allow their bodies to adjust. And it doesn't take adrenal problems to be sensitive to the T3, at first. I see it like someone who has been starving--the last thing you do is serve them a four course meal!! Same with Armour. It's always wiser and more prudent to start on one grain or less. If you do fine, then you can raise a bit after a few weeks, and so on. Once you get to 2-3 grains, THEN it is VERY wise to hold the doses for at least 4-5 weeks to allow the T4 to build and to show it's results. T3 can be immediate, but T4 takes time to build. Hope that helps. Janie
