it was burned raw !!!! mind you I have had an ercp before !! NOT LIKE

Thanks for the reply ... I think the hospital is trying to pass the

buck in taking the blame for breaking the tooth which is making me

more mad. But the air still is stuck in me and I'm still sore and

even to take a deep breath I'm in some pain .. I try not to take any

extra meds ... but thats just me. And as for the uvula I have to

keep my mouth hydrated if not it gets really dry and raspy... The

hospital said that by Monday they would give me an answer to " if

there gonna cover to fix my tooth! " I guess they don't know the

meaning of really pissing the patient ... to top it off I used to

work at that hospital for 9 years so I know the ropes ... I guess we

shall see ;o)

Hi Marisol,

I really hope the hospital covers the broken crown - at least partly

if they refuse to take all the blame for it. I will keep my fingers

crossed that they pay for all of it!

I am all for not taking any unnecessary medication but in Eemeli's

case one dose of oxinorm took the pain away (although I thought it

would not be enough seeing him cramping with pain and whining which he

does not do easily although he is 12). When the pain was away, he

could move and that helped get the air out of his system. The ERC was

on Thursday and today (Saturday) he was out chopping some wood.

Unbelievable. I can't keep up: first all the preop stuff, hospital

crap (changing rooms twice the first night in the middle of the

colonsteril drinking among other things), two procedures in one day,

the bad pain episode and worry about possible pancreatitis, roommate

having high fever and fainting one night most likely due to a

side-effect of cipro (I was in the room and the nurse needed help) -

and today, the my kid is chopping wood like nothing out of the

ordinary ever took place.

What was the new machine they used for your ERC? Do you know what was

different about it or did they just not know how to use it without

hurting your throat?

Taru-Mari, mom of Eemeli (12), PSC 7/2003 & UC 5/2008
