Guest guest
Sunny I am glad to hear that you are doing ok over there. We lost alot of shingles on our roof here. We got our power back on sat morning sometime. Hopefully y'all will get your power back on soon. you are in my prayers and thoughts. Love Kimi Hi We made it! Thanks for asking about me, . Yes, it was VERY scary especially since it hit after dark. I live in Winter Park, and if you have seen the news, we took a major hit here. Many ancient, lovely old trees went down and demolished many homes. We are still without power, and some still don't have water. The schools are still closed due to down power lines and everyone is begging for ice, which we can't find. But we are not complaining when we think about our fellow Floridians to the south. They are the ones we still need to pray hard for.We had a twister in the middle of the hurricane on our street. It took out house only three doors down from me. We lost our screen enclosure around the pool, a huge tree and most of our roof. We also had our neighbor's shed blow into our fence, pick up our shed and "move" it to the other side of the yard, destroying that fence, too. But we are all hanging together to make the most of it. Those who are have things are sharing and those in need are being taken care of.Thanks for all the prayers. They are what saved our state. And please keep those in South Florida in your prayers. They were hit by a wind force every bit as powerful as the dreaded .Hope all of you are well!Sunny
Guest guest
SUNNY ! BOY AM I GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU !......I have been so worried .......As I read your last post to the group, you sounded in panic (If an Email has a sound.....that one did) Everyday I looked from word from you, and every night I said another Prayer that you were safe. Thank you for checking in! WHEW ! Okay....does that make all our Florida Lupies counted for? It sounds like you have it pretty rough even still, and will for some time to come. But Thank God you are alive ......are the rest of your family O.K?......We will all continue to Pray for the Southern Floridians and you as you struggle to get your life back together. I have never been through a hurricane or tornado, but have had some close calls ! Does anyone remember .....it must have been in 2000 .....(as I still had my leg in a cast, and was in my wheelchair ) When the tornado took out part of downtown Fort Worth? I guess that was my closest call ......there was one in Southern Arlington, that took out houses not 2 blocks away from my Daughter's House.....They were untouched, as was I , in my Apt. Complex. But I remember trying to maneuver(sp?) that wheelchair into the Bathroom dragging pillows, Quilts, and my ' Baggie of Medicines'.....and filling up big orange juice bottles of water from the Bathtub ! Are you doing okay health wise? If anything could cause a flare, something like that could. ! Take care of yourself, and others as best you can ! Again.......SO GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU. LOVE & PEACE TO YOU ALL. LINDA C. Sunny checking in... Hi We made it! Thanks for asking about me, . Yes, it was VERY scary especially since it hit after dark. Guest guest
Hi You are so sweet to worry about me! Yes, I am fine. And yes, I am in relapse. lol No chance of avoiding that! But I can't totally blame Charley. I was already in one after taking care of my mom for 8 weeks after her car accident. I had a little case of pericarditis going only a week before Charley's visit, but I was close to being over it. I have learned to put stress on the back burner, but the physical effort of preparing for a full fledged hurricane is monumental. There is ALOT to do to avoid more damage. Then, after living through the horror of hearing it ( and it IS horror), there is so much clean up work it is mind boggling. The city and state help with some if it, but most is done by the individual property owners. We spend all day Sunday clearing debris and then had the pleasure of coming in to take a shower in cold water. Not soothing, for sure. All the stores are losing tons of food that has gone bad as there is still no power in most of the city. Finding ice for coolers in next to impossible. And finding gas is even worse. School is still out of session, but there isn't anything for the kids to do with no TV. My kids are older, but it is hard to drive around with no gas. My daughter went on to U of Fla for sorority rush this weekend so I am glad that Gainesville was spared. Our condo in New Smyrna had only minimal damage and my uncle in Cocoa Beach didn't even have the petals fall off his posies! lol We are thanking God tonight that we have eachother in spite of the heat in the house. It has been a bit of a problem for me as I have respiratory problems, but my hubby is trying to find a generator to at least run a fan. I just hope and pray that no more hurricanes come our way this season. Florida truly can't handle another one. But they tend to follow paths each year, so please continue to pray for us. And pray the hardest for the ones in Punta Gorda. God bless them, they took a hit as hard as . To Deanna, I hope you are feeling much better. You are vital to this group and we love you. To everyone else, thanks for the prayers. They are what saved us.
