Hi everyone... I was referred to this board by a friend.

I am 23/F and I've suffered from Hypothyroidism for approx. 2 years

now.

I am currently on Synthroid-75mg and I have not seen ANY improvement

at all with my symptoms in the past 8 months.

I think I would be a good candidate for switching to dessicated

thyroid!

Has anyone here experienced what I have on Synthroid? Here are my

current numbers:

TSH: 0.3 (range 0.30-4.70)

T3 Total RIA: 2.1 (0.7-2.1)

Free T4: 18.5 (9.1-23.8)

Free T3: 5.4 (2.5-5.7)

As you can see my #'s are pretty optimal, however NONE of my Hypo

symptoms have improved AT ALL in 8 months. I am still gaining

weight (despite low-calorie diet & exercise 6 days week),

depression, extremely bad circulation- hands and feet always ice

cold, dry skin, extreme fatigue (sleeping 9-10hrs and STILL

exhausted), high cholestrol of 6.11.

My dosage was upped slightly a little while ago, but this caused me

to go Hyperthyroid... Had severe heart palpitations, numbness in

left arm, anxiety, insomnia, etc.

As you can see I'm having a very hard time with my medication! My

doctor doesn't know what else to do? She is basically saying its up

to my diet and exercise. (which I already do!)

I'm fed up! It's ridiculous that my symptoms haven't even improved

at all since I was first diagnosed with a TSH of 11.93, over 8

months ago!

Does anyone know of any resources that could help me find a doctor

somewhere in Ontario, Canada that prescribes natural thyroid??

Has anyone else had any other complications that in-fact weren't

thyroid related? Possibility of Adrenal imbalances, leptin

resistance, chronic fatigue?

Any advice or experiences would be soooooooo helpful!

Thank you
