Hello everyone!

I'm new to the list and will post more info about

myself shortly, but I wanted to ask a question

first...

Regarding this vegetarian diet: What about those of

us who are hypoglycemic? I've always understood that

I needed protein to keep my blood sugar stable, and

that fruit is usually a no-no. Can anyone give me

some insight into this? Veggies have just never

seemed to do a thing to keep by blood sugar dips at

bay.

Thanks!

Hello Sharr:)

I too was also diagnosed with Hypoglycemia. In fact, I have met many people

with FMS/CFS who were also diagnosed with it. When I started my diet (all fruit

and fresh juice only at first) I never considered how my diet change would be

affected by me having Hypoglycemia. For the first time in my life, after

reading " Back to Eden " I understood how vital proper diet is to our over all

health. Fruits and veggies were designed to provide proper vitamins and

minerals to our body which are vital in sustaining life. The more pure the

diet, the more healthy the body. So with this new found knowledge I set out to

rid my body of these ravaging diseases. And I did.....7 months now and NO

symptoms of anything I was diagnosed with (FMS/CFS/TMJ, hypoglycemia, and

eventually liver and kidneys shutting down). I find that absolutely

tremendous!!

Changing your diet, excercising daily, lots and lots of water, fresh air and

sunshine, and a good rest all go into our overall health. These all seem like

simple things to change, but believe me, it was the hardest thing I have ever

done. I never realized how I had accumulated a lifetime of bad habits.

There are many sources of protein in a veggie diet. Nuts, fish and soybeans

provide a lot of protein. I am not a complete vegetarian as I do have meat a

few times a week. What I have found that sets me back, is any food that has

been processed. Which pretty much covers everything for sale on the shelves in

the stores. It is the chemicals that are added which are so bad for our bodies.

If I eat anything that has been processed at all, I can feel it in my body

within 18 hours. I can go for weeks with absolutely no pain, no symptoms at all

and have a handful of potato chips and I will have pain in my legs the next day.

Hope this helps you:)
