Guest guest
Weird, I dont exactly fit the description to a T, but my toes turn purple/black in a hot bath, the ends of those same toes are strangly shaped and swollen, and if they get hit at all, severe pain! plus, major hot feet at bed time. Ive been hypo since I131 about 20 years ago,and this was just diagnosed yesterday. You could also say that being stupid is a symptom/side effect of hypo (I can say that. I am) but I know PLENTY of stupid people who are not hypo.... > One has nothing to do with the other except if you were hypo it would make the symptoms worse but Raynalds is not a thyroid issue. Pople say when they have cold hands that they have Raynalds. It is not cold hands, It is a severe painful spasm that cuts of blood supply. Amputations are common! > Re: Ever heard of Raynauds Syndrome? > > > In a message dated 2/24/2005 7:55:44 AM Eastern Standard Time, > jamyrogers@m... writes: > > > Cold hands and feet are not the same as Raynauds. Guest guest
When I was dxed, the first thing they said was diabetes. That also causes lack of sensation. Have you been tested for that? In my case, I am not, even after three 8 hour glucose tests which in my opinion are so hard on the body it should have made me diabetic. Hot water doesn't have the effect on Raynauds that cold does. As a matter of fact one of the early tests is showing the reaction from putting your hands in cold water and after the spasm stops, putting them in hot water. If you have a spasm going on going in hot water turns it white and red, but never black that I know of. The clubbed fingers, have you had your heart checked? I would never say that anyone is stupid because of hypo symptoms, but I can say it effects the thinking ability. I am adopted and when I met my maternal side of my biological family it seems my grandmother had Alzheimers. Well several years later before I was dxed, even though I had gone to Dr's saying something was wrong numerous times. Anyway two thing happened that stick out in head that scared me and made me think I had early onset. One I stood there tryiong to figure out how to put on my bra for almost an hour. Next, I couldn't figure out how to turn on the correct burner on my stove even though there are pictures that show how as well as this had been my stove for 3 years. I have very severe primary Raynalds so my results may be different, but I would look up the changes in finger shapes. You may want to also be tested for scleraderma (spelling) Stupid is as stupid does/ Ever heard of Raynauds Syndrome?
