Hi Sue:

I could relate to your post. I am 51 and have had

mitral valve prolapse causing a rapid heart-rate for

almost thirty years. Fortunately a good East Coast

doctor (when I was living in Philadelphia and had

great medical insurance...ooooh...those were the days

*sigh*) put me on Inderal which is a safe, dependable

drug that has been around for more than 30 years. Now

my resting heart-rate is usually about 75-80 beats per

minute. Did your doctors ever tell you that your

valve would have to replaced? Do you know if a mitral

valve prolapse can just stay the same or does it get

worse with age?
