Guest guest
>>> Can anone one tell me what PH 8.5 in a stool sample would mean. " Any meat, for instance, escaping digestion in the stomach, produces ammonia in the colon, resulting in alkaline stools, " http://www.nutri.com/wn/efib.html So it sounds like a sign of too much ammonia. The could be from insufficient digestion or bacteria overgrowh in the colon which also product ammonia. But stools can be slightly alkaline (which I would call pH 8) and be normal (a neutral pH is 7 on a scale going up to 14). How do the stools look in consistency? And what type of diet is he currently on? .
Guest guest
http://www.ajcn.org/cgi/content/full/73/2/399S This is a good site, it tells you about infant forumlas/breastmilk, the difference in cow and human milk, and more about how to get those probiotics to work, plus some Ph info.
