Guest guest
Hello! I know some of you are worried about Darcy taking prednisone. I know with an asthmatic daughter, it really helps. My daughter has gotten so bad at times that the prednisone is the only thing that kept her alive. She is doing much better now since the doctor put her on Flovent. The doc put me on prednisone back in March and it did make me sicker than a dog but then, I wasn't being treated for asthma either, just fibro. -- Hugs, Sherri I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and think, " Well, that's not going to happen. Guest guest
-Sherry, I cant believe a doctor would prescribe prednisone for fibro. This drug is truly dangerous. I would only take it for a life threatening condition and then it will still threaten your life. One of the side effects is growth problems in children. My son has Legg Calve Perthes disease and when he was a baby he had respiratory problems and took prednisone a few times. They are doing studies to see if prednisone could cause his disease. It is disease of the bone growth in the hip joint area. They have no idea what causes it but it does repair itself. At the time he took prednisone I didnt know what it does to the body considering doctors just give you this crap without saying a word. At first we thought my son might have arthritis so I got an arthritis book. It explained medications and risks from them. Prednisone had 3 pages of warnings compared to a half page to one page for other drugs.-I saw what it did to my father in law and have read the warnings. - In @y..., Sherri B wrote: > Hello! Guest guest
--Oh I forgot. My father in laws immune system was affected by the prednisone and he contracted lysteria about a month and a half ago. People on prednisone should avoid raw lunch meats, wash fruits and vegies, and avoid unpasturized products due to the risk of getting lysteria. His doctor did not warn him of this. Generally healthy people just get flu like symptoms if they come in contact with lysteria. He got blood poisoning and meningitis because it just took over. It also makes pregnant women miscarry but does not affect the mother in a serious way. My father in law died a month and a half after getting lysteria which could have been avoided. - In @y..., " reds_henry " wrote: > -Sherry, I cant believe a doctor would prescribe prednisone for > fibro. Guest guest
--I do believe there are situations that do require prednisone as treatment, I just hate the fact that doctors just give a prescription a little too easily and dont warn of side effects. If it was necesary for quality of life and to stay alive there is not much choice about taking it. Like I said when my son was prescribed prednisone, I wasnt told anything about it, although he was on it just for a short period. I dont want to make anyone feel bad about needing it. I just want to give info so that only the people that truly need it take it. - In @y..., Sherri B wrote: > , I am so sorry to hear about your son and father-in-law. > > I should have said that my doc put me on prednisone before I was diagnosed > with fibro.
