Adrenal Conditions, Weak Adrenal Glands

Brief Description of the Condition:

The adrenal glands are a pair of glands located on top of the kidneys.

Adrenal conditions may arise due to exhaustion related to stress and

overextension. The adrenals may be either over or underactive and different

symptoms may result from each condition.

Possible Cause/Risks Include:

Extensive use of cortisone drugs, food allergies, pituitary diseases, poor

nutrition, smoking, alcohol, and drug abuse, stress, and tuberculosis.

Helpful Lifestyle Changes:

Avoid stress and seek out ways to relieve and resolve stressful conditions

in your life. Get sufficient sunlight, exercise, and sleep.

Helpful Dietary Changes:

Increase intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, specifically green leafy

vegetables. Add beans, Brewer’s yeast, brown rice, nuts, olive oil, seeds,

wheat germ, and whole grains to your diet. Increase intake of garlic, onions

and shitake mushrooms which provide germaniun which increases tissue

oxygenation and enhances the immune system.

Increase deep-ocean fish intake (e.g. salmon, tuna). Avoid alcohol, caffeine

and tobacco.

Avoid fats, fried foods, processed foods, red meat, sugar, and white flour.
