Guest guest
I just had my 4th ERCP this year-- #1--pancreatitis in march or april--multiple small stones and GI thought maybe I had PSC #2--June diagnosised with PSC and 3 more small stones removed #3--October sludge removed and stent placed after 3rd cholangitis attack since August (8/18,9/16 and 10/13) #4--Today (Nov 17)--to remove stent--small amount of sludge found inside stent but otherwise the rest looked the best my GI has seen in me. After all of these ERCPs my GI is suggesting that for about the next 2 years that I have an ERCP done about every 6 months, during my downtime from nursing school. He said this way he can clean things up and hopefully catch any possible issues as early as possible (strictures, etc) My question is--has anyone had their dr suggest that they get ERCPs done like this? I trust my GI, he has always been upfront with me, and my gut just tells me that he is the best for me right now. I just worry about the possibilty of getting pancreatitis from the ERCP. Thanks in advance for any responses, Beth B--Thornton,CO
