Guest guest
Others may (and probably will) disagree…….but, yes I do believe a person can go into remission (the disease is still there though). We had one group member named Phil, who was in the hospital more times than out. He had a horrible 2 years, his wife was beside herself with worry. It all just stopped! He has been free of problems for probably (at the very least) 3 or 4 years. No infections, working full time and traveling to China all the time for the new business he started. I received this reply from Dr Lindor at Mayo in August 2004 - “Some patients may remain stable for some time but the disease has not disappeared. There is not much written about this, it is not surprising that you have not found much info about this. No studies that I am aware of and no good way to predict for an individual, although the Mayo risk score might be used.” My own son was in Stage 4 End Stage for 7 years. I'm so curious about this. Has anyone out there ever had a remission in ELD with PSC? What can you tell me about it? Could this last for years?
