I noticed that >you talk about a rheumatism doctor, neurologist, etc? I saw many doctors over the years, then lucked into finding a good P.A. She's a Physician's Assistant, and can do most of the things that a doctor does, except sign drug prescription forms. She's been sort of a consultant, and I go to her instead of a general practitioner, she sends me here and there, and she's the first one in ten years who's taken any sort of interest in finding out what's wrong with me. She sent me to a neurologist to have a " nerve conduction " study done, which confirmed that I have no nerve damage in my hands, but I do have carpal tunnel syndrome. I've known that for 20 years! He also did the MRI of the brain, to rule out MS.... She also sent me to an endocrinologist who was not very good. She was supposed to follow up on an ultrasound report that my thyroid was swollen, but she poked at me and said that the report was wrong. Then the PA sent me to the rheumatologist, who ordered the full body bone scan, xrays of the hands, and a ton of bloodwork. He treats a lot of RA, and FM....and *seems* to be OK so far..He's determined to find the cause of my elevated sed rate, too. And I've seen a naturopath (who told me there was nothing wrong with me except allergies), another endocrinologist, etc. etc. But mostly, I guess the PA and the rheumatologist helped the most. I haven't tried acupuncture, but I have friends who've tried it for other things, and they LOVE it....it really helps them. Hope this helps..... I've also just been put into physical therapy too. I've tried acupuncture, I didn't get much out of it, but I only went 3 times because my co-pay was $30 each time and I can't afford that every week.
