Guest guest
I'm happy to say that I haven't darkened the inside of town Hospital since last Saturday. Maybe I AM getting better! I am very slowly transitioning back to a normal life. I even worked for a couple hours yesterday. It was nice to see a couple clients again. Still, after only a couple hours, I was exhausted and in some pretty solid pain, so it will be a while before I'm back up to speed. Sitting in a chair is actually the most uncomfortable position for me. It must have something to do with how the muscles are compressed. I find it much more comfortable to recline, but working on a computer is impossible in that position. But, I'm a pretty good innovator, so maybe I can rig up something. The real pain right now is where the old drains came out and along the internal path where the drainage lines ran. They stitched everything up extra tightly to minimize leakage, but the downside is that it's pretty painful. Thank God for percoset. Kathy and are in Northumberland County today doing research for a paper is writing for school, so I'm truly on my own. I don't need a babysitter, but I do have a network of people I can call upon if necessary. They will be back tonight and there is plenty of food in the refrigerator, so I should be OK. I even remembered all of my medications this morning, so I'm doing fine thus far. My first follow up visit at town is tomorrow morning. I don't have any real issues to discuss. The progress is slow but steady, and that is all I should expect. I'm just glad to be out of there!
