Here's an interesting article that links

a PSC-like disease to a virus infection (murid herpesvirus-4) in a mouse

model

I know you all think I'm crazy...

This survey is not at all scientific. But what if ????

So I need help. The first thing that jumped out at me

was the Zoster Virus.

Out of the 23 (who answered

the survey ) - 17 had Chicken Pox & 2 had Herpes Simplex

That’s 19 out

of 23. Now it could be that all were out of the same generation -

only 4 were a different generation. So that’s why I'm doing the control group. So I went back to read up on Zoster

Virus.

A group of herpes viruses that includes 7

human virus, as well as animal viruses. Along with Chicken Pox,

Shingles, Mono, & Epstein Barr. are herpes

1 & 2. The virus remains

inactive for years, or a life time. Not clear why it reactivates. Children who catch it from other family

members have a more severe case. (Note

I didn't ask where they got it from - maybe I should) Boys have a higher risk for complications

than girls. Thought I'd

throw in here that itching is #1 complication. Mono = fatigue. Secondary infection is

usually caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus. Reye's Syndrome

causes liver damage (so why not ducts?) We didn't know about the use of aspirin

years ago when we were all young, so Moms could

of given us aspirin. Other

complications include blood clotting and inflammation in nerves and in livers.

As a foot note for those reading

this far. They say to put Baking Soda in cold water to help itching. Might want to try that.

So tell me where I went wrong. What am I leaving out? What else should

we look for? Is herpes a

consideration? Where else should I go for information? HELP,

HELP -- Should I ask another PSC group to do a survey? What do you think
