Guest guest
I have been on Elavil for approx. 2 months now. I started off on 25mg and quickly cut that dose in half, now slowly have worked back up and finally am on 50 mg (for the past 2 days now). The Elavil does contribute to my eating disorder. I am 5'10 " and at 125 lbs. I am 5 lbs. underweight. I lost about 5 lbs. when I first started taking the Elavil and had to really work at gaining it back. As I said I do have an eating disorder as a result of congenital heart defects that were not corrected until I was 10 yrs of age. The cardiac concerns left even after surgical repair also contribute to the eating disorder. What is interesting is that I rarely feel hungry save when it is necessary for me to take vicodin for a herniated disc, when I strain my back. The narcotic seems to make me hungry, or perhaps it just irritates my stomach and by eating settles it. I was ready to drop all my meds and go and spend the mortgage payment on organic fruits and vegis. Maybe I should go just a little more slowly with that ... On another note, I am officially jealous of all you skinny people. B/f I went on stupid Paxil last summer I weighed 135 and now I weigh 175 and gain about 4 lbs. every week. I'm 5'5 " . Going to see the dr. tomorrow about that one. Being bigger than I've ever been in my life is doing nothing good for my depression! - ---------------------------------
