Guest guest Posted January 30, 2009 Report Share Posted January 30, 2009 , I can tell you, now that I'm a year post tx, that what you're experiencing is not atypical for end stage liver disease and H.E. I'm not speaking from my own experience, solely, but that of my collective group of transplantees (from PSC, of course). My ammonia level was not high when checked, but the doctors knew I was suffering from H.E. and gave me meds to treat it. Xifaxin worked the best for me, but as my daughter will verify, it was still an emotional roller coaster and not a lot of fun! Prayers going up for you!!!
