Guest guest
Yesterday was the 8-week anniversary of the transplant. In many ways, it seems like the surgery was only yesterday. In other ways, it seems like ages ago.I had a follow up appointment yesterday. Outside of some medicine tweaks, it was uneventful, which is great. She did remove the last external stitch--the one where the second JP drain used to be. So, I am now stitch-free, at least on the outside. I guess that's progress. I also think I'm doing a pretty good job managing my time and not overdoing things. I get about three or four good hours every day. As soon as I feel the fatigue or pain coming on, I try and stop immediately and rest. Pain is still an issue and will be for a while...it's worst when I'm sitting. Maybe it's how the muscles compress when I'm sitting, I don't know. Overall, then, I'm not doing as well as I would like after eight weeks, but all things considered, I think the worst is behind me and I'm doing pretty well. Guest guest
Tom, I haven’t gotten a liver yet, but judging from the Roux-en-Y it’ll take a while. I wasn’t 100% until about a year after the operation, but within 3 months I was almost pain free and doing pretty well. Thinking of you.
