I look forward to being a part of the group. ~Jody Age range: 29 Male/female: Female What are the symptoms? FMS symptoms:Pain, stiffness, twitching, spasms, numbness, weakness, insomnia and headaches just to name a few. Has you illness been diagnosed? Yes, I was DX at the age of 13 How long did you suffer before you got help? Approx 1-2 years Is there a time that you can remember when it started? I don't really ever remember feeling well. Most of my childhood memories revolve around being sick and missing out on things all of the time. Some of us have found lack of exercise we are overweight. Have you found this to be a problem also? Yes, I've had a weight problem for the past 10 years. Are you on disability? NO If you are any pointers for others trying to get on disability? What have you found that helps ease the pain, warm baths, medications etc.? Warm baths help me when I have the time to take them. After a long day a neck rub helps alittle. Gentle stretching excersizes and heating pads help too. I take Lortab as need for the pain-approx 1-3 times a day. Do you have sleep problems? How do you deal with it? I used to have very bad sleeping problems. But that's improved with the following meds:Trazadone, Neurontin and Sonata. Do you have family that understands your illness? Not Really-this is a big problem for me right now. Some have found certain foods causes problems with CFS or Fibro, have you? Not to my knowledge. What type of Doctor have you found that has helped you the most? My primary care Physician has helped me more in the past 2 years than all of my other Doctors combined for the 10 years prior to taking on my case.
