Guest guest
I had all of my wisdom teeth out all at once and it wasn't a good experience. X-rays showed my wisdom's coming in at angles where they definitely would have pushed on my other teeth. I was knocked out completely. I don't think I could've done it otherwise. When I woke up I was surprised it was over but my face swelled up and I looked like a chipmunk with it's mouth full. When I got home the novocane and whatever else they may have put in my system wore off. The pain was so excruciating I began to cry and cry. I got my prescription for percocet and started taking it. Well turns out my stomach doesn't like percocet so I started puking. Called the doctor, he called me in another prescription for Compazine to stop the puking. I took that, it made me really tired too so I went to sleep. I took advil for the pain instead. The first three or four days were hell for me. By the end of the week I was recovered from the worst of the pain. But then I got a dry socket, meaning one of the wounds didn't heal right. That was causing pain too but not as bad as when I first got them all out. The dentist put something in the dry socket to make it feel better and help it heal right. The only problem after that was the tooth right infront of the dry socket became extremely sensitive to sweets and cold. Even cold weather outside made that side of my face hurt. Over a few months that went away. So that's my horror story, but I am glad I got them removed before they had a chance to cause worse problems. ~Jen
