Greetings to new members. I feel as though I have fallen off the

edge of the world the last few days. I have been reading

conversations, but have not had time to join in. My sister-in-law

from Virginia has been here since Tuesday, and she has her four

children with her. While it is nice to see them (because of distance

it has been over six years), it gets tiring after awhile. I know how

much she needs a break from her life, so I try not to say anything,

and try to make things easy going for the kids. They lost their home

in the hurricane last Sept., and have been living in FEMA trailers,

along with my sister-in-law's mother-in-law, so this is a nice break

for them. Talk about someone with bad luck! If if wasn't for the

bad luck, she would not have any luck at all!

Note about stopping prednisone cold turkey, from what I have been

told, prednisone tends to " thin " the blood. Some people with lupus

have clotting problems, in that the blood is on the " thick " side (I

have two such issues, along with a mechanical heart valve). The

sudden stop of prednisone tends to " thicken " the blood quickly and

the chances of clots increases. I am surprised that a doctor would

stop it cold turkey. My gosh, the guy should know better.

I am waiting to get some test results back so I can start my Imuran.

All tests are back except the one they had to send to the Mayo

Clinic. If it is anything like the last test, it could be three

weeks. As you all know, who feels like they have three weeks to

wait! At this point, I would almost like to take my chances! I read

so many things of what is happening, and feel like a whinny puppy.

After all, mine is just a " rash " . Oh, but I have about 80 spots on

my legs, 50 on my back and hundreds on my arms, and they have not

stopped coming. Everyone says, " at least you don't have them on your

face and neck anymore. " Guess they could not stand to look at them.

Well, husband and daughter are back from a baseball game, so it is

time to go work out. Yippee!

MN/WI Lupies, have not forgotten all of you and still would like to

plan a date/time to meet. What is everyone's schedule for about the

next two months? It might take that long to get a date/time we can

all meet.

Love to all! My prayers are with all!

, from Minnesota (puppybarnes to distinquish from other

B.)
