Guest guest
Sounds more like an allergic reaction. Does it itch? What meds is she taking? Arne UC 1977, PSC 2000 Alive and well in Minnesota From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of llduq Yesterday she got “blotches” around her eyes. I am not sure how to describe it, if you think about someone with dark circles around their eyes, Suzanne has red circles. It’s really one very big blotch – not raised, just red. They encircle her eyes, and are about twice as deep below her eye and above her eyes the blotch goes from her eye lids to touching her eye brow…

Guest guest
Arne, The blotch around her eye doesn’t itch more than the rest of her does. She tried atarax, Benadryl and zyrtec and none of those gave her any relief. Her medications are: Ursodiol: Prevacid: and Loperamide. Guest guest
The irritation can be caused by a build up of bile salts, especially since she is itchy it is very likely. Some of the meds that others take may help, I got relief from UV/B light treatments. Jaundice is caused by bile salts and since the skin around the eyes is so delicate is may show up as red blotches. Before my tx, I woke up with the rims around my eyes bright red on a Friday. I talked to the nurse with the transplant team, had blood tests and got a new liver Sunday night. If you have a good ER that will contact a liver doc, it might be time to have her checked out. Take Care MizKit Suzanne - itching, blotching and bleeding I know it has been awhile since I have written. Suzanne is doing very well in terms of her IBD, however it appears that she is beginning to have difficulty with her liver. She is having more frequent and longer itching attacks. Her hepatologist just ordered a series of blood work and an ERCP to try to figure this out. I know that the story is usually there’s not much you can do. I have a question though about other accompanying symptoms. Suzanne is on about day five of her worst itching attack ever. Yesterday she got “blotches†around her eyes. I am not sure how to describe it, if you think about someone with dark circles around their eyes, Suzanne has red circles. It’s really one very big blotch – not raised, just red. They encircle her eyes, and are about twice as deep below her eye and above her eyes the blotch goes from her eye lids to touching her eye brow. The other thing that just started today was rectal bleeding. This happens to her every now and then and antibiotics are the typical treatment and it is usually successful. I am wondering this time if it has anything to do with the itching, or if it’s just coincidental. Thoughts?
