Enid,

Hi! I'm sorry to hear you've been having such a rough time since you returned

home to New Mexico. It seems to be one of life's unfair ironies that we're

never at our sickest in front of the doctors!

You asked about hot flashes. Back when I was first diagnosed with PSC, I would

have extreme hot flashes where I'd be fine one second and then literally

drenched the next to the point where even my shirt was soaked through and I

found myself needing to take extra clothes with me wherever I went (I was 29/30

at the time). I also would start occasionally shaking uncontrollably. I'm not

sure if that's what you mean by chills or not. In any case, my teeth would

chatter, my whole body would shake, etc. I informed the doctors what was going

on and they played with my medications and different dosages and eventually the

flashes did stop (although I do still have occasional problems with the

shaking). Have you checked to see if hot flashes are a side effect of any of

your medications? Anyhow, nowadays, my chills are different. It almost feels

as though I've got ice water running through my body and can't get warm even

when under blankets/in a warm

bath/shower, etc.

In any case, I thought I'd let you know that you're not alone out there. I'm so

glad you found us and I hope you get some relief from your symptoms soon!
