Lymph swelling?

Howdy --

Haven't been keeping up with matters, and I apologize for that. All the

expected reasons, unfortunately. Flare starting up, work kicking my butt,

sick.

Please help? Last night at work a colleague pointed out a swelling behind

my ear to me, that I hadn't noticed. I am assuming it's a lymph

node. It's really large, not painful, but very noticeable. I am on my

third round of antibiotics for an ongoing infection that I can't seem to

kill, so I'm thinking this is infection-related. But it also appears that

nodes in my groin are also becoming involved.

I am currently taking Levaquin for this infection, but I have already had a

round of IV Levaquin and a ten-day course of Cipro, which have not touched

my condition. I had a systemic infection three years ago (septicemia) that

was quite serious. I am wondering now what I should do. I've been on my

current Levaquin for five days and at first thought it was working, but my

original symptoms have returned, as well as these new lymph (I guess)

infections. Any suggestions or comments from folks who've had this or

something like it happen? I can rule out measles, mumps and rubella

because I had an MMR titer last year when I started at the hospital (and a

bad reaction to it), and my work-related TB test two weeks ago was

clear. I've already had mono two years ago, and these are not the same

symptoms as the lymph involvement I had then. I was recently exposed to

infectious meningitis, but was told that my current antibiotic (Cipro at

the time) protected me, so I received no other treatment. Temp routinely

elevated 2-3 degrees, and tiredness that has really become lassitude; I

slept 12 hours last night and am considering sleeping more now.

Any input would be very welcome. I have never experienced lymph swelling

like this, and it is somewhat alarming. With my history of Sjogren's

syndrome I am aware that the lympatic system can become compromised. I'm

not real happy today.

Thank you in advance,

Em

Em, I don't have the beginnings of a clue! Sorry, hon, but I think you

need to get yourself to a doctor asap! Good luck with it.
