Guest guest
Has anyone else tried Clair Davies book on trigger point therapy? I have apparently had FMS since I was a child. I had a set of symptoms then. I had another set in teens, another in my 20s and another in my 30s. In my late 30s, it got a whole lot worse. I have been in a bad way for five to six years. About a month ago, I was put on yet another antidepressant, this one was Wellbutrin. It nearly killed me. At one point, I had gotten paranoid, had hallucinations and thought I had overdosed. I didn't know if I had or not. I got off after about 12 days and coming down was dropping into a pit of pain like I had never known. I have had flares, but mostly I have coped just fine. I was no longer coping. The extreme body pain eased, then I got a cluster migraine (which I now see is FM related), then another episode of hard body pain. I really wished I had overdosed! I have some Ultracet that I can use, but it didn't do anything. Skelaxin helped for a few hours. Bextra took the edge off. It was about this time that the doctor finally said the word " fibromyalgia " to me. It was about time. Being who I am, I immediately researched and bought Starlanyl's book and Davies' book. I read the first one totally on Saturday. I delved into Davies Saturday evening. Would you believe that identifying and treating a set of masseter muscle trigger points ended a week long migraine? Would you believe it took about three minutes to clear that headache? I am in the process of mapping the trigger points in my body, some of which I really had no clue about. I have begun regular treatment of them (short massages of 1 minute, four to six times a day) and I am finding more relief than I thought would ever, EVER be possible. I consider the money I spent on Davies' book to be amongst the best I ever spent and I recommend getting the book, mapping the trigger points on your entire body and consistently, systematically treating them. The masseter trigger points...here is one for you: It has eased my nasal stuffiness, helped to clear YEARS of blurry vision and changed the way my eyes are seeing colors (they are more clear and intense like I remember. I am a trained artist and having color back is just awesome). Also, it no longer hurts to move my eyes, just a bit of an ache which I think will go away. Between this and the guaifenesin therapy I will start soon, I think there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Who else has tried guaifenesin therapy?
