Well, they mostly affect my hands, and they seem to come on after an

hour or two of physical work. It doesn't have to be real

strenuous. After the hands, if I keep pushing myself (and I usually

do), I'll start to get an odd, nervous feeling in my chest, sort of,

like something is just not right, but I don't know what. I'll

usually get a headache too, sometimes a killer.

When I first started getting these, I thought I was having a heart

attack. This isn't helped by the absurdly vague symptoms they give

for heart attack (for example, " denying you are having a heart

attack " -- duh?). I always have chest pain -- hurting ribs is very

common in hypo, at least according to an informal poll here some

time ago. A stress EKG and some sort of heart camera with

radioactive goo injected in my veins said my heart is fine. And the

goo didn't even give me any super-powers.

Does this sound like what happens to you? Sorry I can't describe it

any better, it's really odd. Maybe some other adrenal fatigue folks

can improve on my description.

P.S. about licorice root: It did nothing for me but raise my blood

pressure and let me take my pulse without touching my wrist, because

I could count each beat in my ears! Licorice root may not be a very

good substitute for cortef. But, everyone's different!
