Saturday 14th MarchThanks everyone for your kind remarks in the guestbook. I had actually nearly given up writing updates, not sure if anybody was reading any more!

Well, I got the PICC line. What they all say about it not hurting and being so convenient...it's all lies!!! They had to put it right under my arm, rather than more to the front, so not only is there a 1cm cut there, but my enormous rolls of fat and bosom hit it at every opportunity!! It didn't actually work at first, clotted internally, but wouldn't stop bleeding a the site, go figure! I thought they were going to pull it out and start on the other arm, but luckily not. They gave me a 'bag' to bring home the pump in, and carry for the next 3 weeks, ....it's a blooming backpack size thing!! Anyway, we have since found a 'bumbag' that it all fits into, Thanks to Fran and Mama on our trip to the IDF conference 4 years ago at Disneyworld, who gave me a Tigger bum bag!

The line is placed in my left arm, contrary to their strong recommendations so I can do things (not tennis this week, but I might try later), I can't imagine it in my right for a right-handed person, ridiculous! Sharon it's not the batteries that need replacing but the meds. The pump has to be refilled with meds every 24 hours, hence the daily trips to the Mater starting with Sunday 8am! Guess the traffic will be easy!

My non-medical achievement this week was a foray into cyberspace. I have set up a facebook page, but don't know what to do with it. It was all started by two of my English cousins ( from different parts of the family) who invited me to visit their sites almost simultaneously. I now have three friends, them and my SIL Vicki who spent an hour on the phone talking me through it. I doubt it will be a success.
