Guest guest
There was one question that I wanted to ask the doctor, what does a rheumatologist do that a GP doesn't or won't? The doctor told me to 'let her know' when I found a rheumatologist to go see...that my insurance would approve! I checked around and every doctor that is accepting new patients isn't scheduling them until Nov or Dec! In 1995 I had the racing heart, and wore an event monitor for a month, I went to a cardiac specialist, because I was afraid i'd just drop over dead! and was diagnosed with inappropriate sinus tachycardia...which just means that my heart rate goes up (to 150) without any reason, after I got over the fact that I wasn't dying & hadn't dropped over dead during one of these attacks, I have learned to live with it without too much trouble, I often get dizzy during these episodes, but the doctor put me on meds (back in 1995) that lowered my heart rate and BP ALL the time and I have blood pressure that runs low anyway (like many w/ FMS), so when I took the cardiac meds, my dizziness was unbearable. And I often am able to stop my heart racing before it gets to that point anymore with relaxation and biofeedback.
