Mairi,

In Judaism it is considered a great

commandment to donate the organs of the dead to save a life. The problem for Judaism

is that according to the scripture a person is dead only when his heart stops

beating. Brain death is not enough for a rabbi to declare someone deceased. This

means that in most cases organ donation is impossible or not practical.

Subject: what does

bible say about organ donation

hi all, i dont think there is really any specific

reference in the bible to organ donation but would really get the feeling

that it would be of God or is plan for mankind to give as much as we can of

our lives to help someone else and there is much reference throughout the

bible of love, laying down of your life, giving, helping, healing and of

course of the fact that it is not God's plan for us to be sick it is his plan

for us to be well functioning Christians and we have an authority in the

name of Jesus to claim or pray for our healing so would say the bible

would be pro-organ donation and cant find any reason why it wouldnt, hope

that makes sense, only an opinion though

I would like to make everyone aware of an amazing group. It is a jewish group with many respected Rabbis who support and explain how organ donation is very possible according to Jewish law.www.hods.org . Please read and learn how all jews can be organ donors! - Sassoon>> Mairi,> > > > In Judaism it is considered a great commandment to donate the organs of the> dead to save a life.
