Guest guest
Big milestone today...it's been three months since the transplant. I had my normal checkup at town today, and now that I've made it this far, the protocol gets easier. First, I don't have to take three of the medications anymore--the Valcyte, Bactrim, and Nystatin stop as of now. Next, my clinic visits will only be monthly, not weekly. Finally, I can do my blood work out here instead of fighting traffic (two hours today) to get to town. So, it's a good day. I still don't have the words to properly articulate my gratitude to Larry. Three months ago today, the two of us showed up at town Hospital before dawn.Three months ago today, our families prayed together while Larry and I underwent surgery for eight hours. Three months ago today was the beginning of a long, slow, but gratifying recovery, both for me and for Larry, who sacrificed so willingly for this imperfect, flawed person.Three months ago today, Larry gave me my life back. What a gift! To send a message to Tom, Kathy and family goto; http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/thomasbutler -- Ian Cribb P.Eng. (6...
