Guest guest
I am new to this group and hope to find helpful and new information as well as to give it. I have FMS, Myofacial Pain Syndrome, Asthma, Arthritis as well as a few more minor problems. Age range: 36 Male/female: Female What are the symptoms? Good Grief, What isn't? Chronic muscle and joint pain; Chronic migraines; IBS; Short-term memory loss; Foggy Brain Syndrome; Blurred Vision at times; Depression; uncoordination and balance problems; Anxiety and Panic Attacks; Tremors; Numbness and burning in extremeties and etc. Has your illness been diagnosed? Yes, 4 yrs. ago How long did you suffer before you got help? I believe that I've always had a very mild form of it. Is there a time that you can remember when it started? It went full blown about 4 1/2 yrs ago after my Mother went through Breast Cancer for the 2nd time and had to have one of them removed. Some of us have found lack of exercise we are overweight. Have you found this to be a problem also? I've been overweight since after my 2nd child was born but have gained more since it went full blown. I think half of it is due to lack of exercise and the other half due to some of the meds I've been on. Are you on disability? I'm still on long-term disability from work since they would not accept my restrictions that the doctors placed on me. If you are any pointers for others trying to get on disability? N/A What have you found that helps ease the pain, warm baths, medications etc.? Heating/Massage pads, stretching exercises, chiropractic care, Botox injections from my neurologist, being on a reg. daily schedule, Effexor XR, Paxil, Robaxin, tizanidine, trileptal, xanax, provigil, and vicodin for break-through pain. Do you have sleep problems? How do you deal with it? Going to bed and getting up on a set schedule everyday, not taking naps so that I will sleep better at night, and taking my xanax right before bed. Do you have family that understands your illness? No. My husband is the only one who seems to understand and support me. I had him go to all of my Doctor's appts. with me in the beginning so that he knew that I wasn't making it up. He still goes to them if I schedule them on his days off. Some have found certain foods causes problems with CFS or Fibro, have you? Dairy products, caffiene, and carbonated drinks tend to make me worse. What type of Doctor have you found that has helped you the most? Chiropractor and my neurologist who also happens to specialize in psychiatry. God Bless All and May You Be as Pain Free as Possible Today.
