Guest guest Posted March 23, 2005 Report Share Posted March 23, 2005 Yes, one panic attack could trash the adrenals for months, especially if they were already in a very precarious position. When they're already " on the edge " , they will use up everything they've got (weak) with just one occurrence of some major proportion, i.e., panic attack, job loss, bad marriage, sorrow, constant worry, or even a major worry stressor for just one day. Strong adrenals have more in reserve, but even they will use it up, if the stress keeps on going. With your history, I wouldn't be very surprised if you have any cortisol in reserve at all.
