Guest guest
Hi everyone. My name is Tim and I live in Denver. I was diagnosed with PSC 3 and a half years ago. I recently underwent 2 separate ercp's in the last two months. The second one they succesfully drained my liver and put stents in. However they were concerned about a spot away from the bile ducts which turned out to be cancer, I was told today. I was seeing Dr. Trotter at the UC but he has since left so I went to a different GI 2 months ago at Arapahoe Gastro - Dr. Balir, who is well known and heads up the liver transplant center at Porter Hospital. He recommended Dr. Luke to perform the ercp's and so forth. I'm somewhat confused as to my next step. I called the hepatology department at UC and made an appt. with Dr. Foreman, who is Dr. Trotter's replacement, tomorrow to get further advisement. Dr. is recommending that I have the tumor surgically removed and possibly do a transplant if i qualify down the road. I'm not sure whether to continue with Dr. Balir at Porter, versus UC which did 87 transplants last year. If anyone can offer some advice I am a bit overwhelmed with results, ercp's and biopsies. Thank you so much and sorry for being a fair weathered PSC'er who checks in every 3 years. Tim
