Guest guest
Seems like I disappear for months at a time and then pop up for a while. It was a long, hot summer, complete with monthly hospital visits for the recurring crohns flareups in my throat. Then, just to make things more interesting, I " divorced " my business partner and started a new company in September. So, I've been pretty buried. There is good news on a couple fronts. First, after my last hospitalization in September, I was approved to receive thalidomide for the flareups in my throat. Within a couple days, the lesions healed, the pain was gone, and I was without discomfort for the first time in nearly two years. My blood work hit a slippery slope. Bilirubin is consistently in the 8 range, and my spleen is so enlarged that it's killing all of my red and white blood cells and platelets. Meanwhile, we found another living donor, and he has been approved by the transplant committee at town. Barring any unforeseen problems, we will be going in for the surgery on Thursday, December 4. It's time. We'll keep the group posted on any developments. Tom PSC 1999 Crohns 2004
