For me personally no matter how much it hurts to exercise ( and it hurts a

lot), It really does help my muscles. It gives me a chance to stretch them

out and it elevates my mood so it's a little easier to deal with chronic

pain.

You have read this ALL WRONG. I was not attacking fibro sufferers, I

was not attacking people on this list. I have been here for a while, I

didn't " just come here to stir the pot. " I am not ignorant or

prejudice. I sure as hell didn't say that you got Fibro from being

lazy. I am well aware that what works for one, may not for the other.

NO this is not off topic or out of line, it is a discussion, not an

attack as you obviously took it. I am not judgmental about anyone, I

said " society, " not " fibro " patients. I didn't tell you to do the

kind of exercise that hurts. And I sure as hell don't think I'm

superior, I said I USED TO rollerblade and go to the gym. While I still

go to the gym, I cannot even come close to the things I used to do, but

I AM working on it. You can read the benefits of exercise to a fibro

patient in medical journals and books on fibro.

I am sorry if you are having a bad day, but don't take it out on me.

Do you attack everyone that makes suggestions? Talks about anything

other then their pain? You obviously read my entire post with a closed

mind or just skimmed over it and missed some things.

Why is it that every time exercise is mentioned on this list, all hell

breaks loose?

NO, somebody doesn't gotta stir the pot. We face prejudice from

ignorant people who don't understand FMS in our daily lives. Why do

we need it here?? I thought this group was for sharing information

about how to deal with FMS, not for someone to come in and tell us we

got it because we're lazy. We can get that from some bimbo on the

street. Where ARE you? DUH. We don't exercise because it hurts WHEN

we are not treated for FMS!! If you've read at least 2 of the posts

here you can see this is a continuing battle, what works for one

doesn't work for everyone, and we are experimenting to find some

comfort to just deal with everyday life. Do you even have FMS??

Yes, some people are lazy. SO?? That has little to do with FMS IMHO.

And for you to come here to this forum to discuss that is off topic

and out of line. IMHO.

Just WHO the blue .....are you talking about or to?? I think the

answer is " those people " ...a phrase often used by people who are

judgemental and group people...it's called prejudice. And what

is " IT " ???? There are many kinds of excercise. I'm not going to do

the kind that hurts. If that bothers you...(hmmm..I can't say that) I

will do the kind of exercise that doesn't hurt. Do you know that you

are talking to people who some of us can't walk more than 50 yards

without pain? So you used to rollerblade and go to the gym. Well,

rootty toot for you. Gee you don't think you're superior do you?

Maybe you should watch how you say your " opinions " . You were inflammatory (and

you knew it). You started your post with this knowledge. Don't yell foul now

after you have the " pot stirred " . You started it and knew what would happen now

you can just take it.

I also feel that way, but people should not be attacked for their

opinions, ideas, suggestions, etc. There are 770 members on this list,

just because one of those people didn't like what I had to say does not

give that person the right to attack and be nasty.

Yes, I did know it. After reading her post, is it any wonder?? I

didn't think I would be called nasty names and be accused of a host of

other things, for stating an opinion. Yea, I started it, but why

should I have to " just take " someone's nastiness? Other members have

posted things without outright being nasty. I cannot believe that this

group cannot discuss anything without someone being offended and ripping

people apart! What is the sense of having a group that is supposed to

be about support and suggestions, if everyone gets offended at every

suggestion that is posted.

I for one joined this group for a refuge to go to to be accepted with the

symptoms I have and not to be judged a hypochondriac. (I am not saying you said

not backstep until confronted. We are in PAIN and sometimes pain is speaking,

I said our society, not fibro sufferers or people on this list. No,

it's not off topic. I said that society in general has become lazy.

Lazy as in there are too many conveniences......remote controls, fast

food, food delivery, etc. It is a proven fact that the less active you

are the more susceptible to things like heart disease, diabetes, just to

name a few. If lack of activity can cause the many problems listed in

my first post, why is it so unimaginable that it could lead to fibro,

also? I did not say they refuse to get off their butts and exercise.

I also didn't say the people on this list refuse to get off their butts

and exercise. The people that I referred to are the general population.

Re: health

So tell us what laziness has to do with fibro? Why even bring that up

for discussion? Yes, it is off topic. And you didn't answer me...who

are these lazy people who refuse to get off thier buts and excercise?

Hypochondriac? Where did that come from?? Back step? I was talking

about society in general. I guess I could have worded it better to be

better understood. I do know pain, quite severe at times, but I also

do not let it control my life. I pushed hard for the pain medication

that allows me to have a life. That is what they make it for. I hate

taking that crap everyday, but if it'll allow me to have a life, I'll

take it. I take 240mg of Oxycontin a day, percocet 10/325 for

breakthrough and I my pain is still at 7 - 8.

The book " Fibromyalgia, Simple Relief through Movement, " is filled with

exercises, movements, stretches, etc.

Re: health

This conversation deteriorated before your post, but I am glad to see

your post. Do you do range of motion excercises? Are you doing these

on your own or from a book any kind of professional? I would be

interested in knowing which excercises are good for relieving pain,

but I don't see much in the book that I bought.

I'm not the exercise police, but I've read, what feels like a million,

things on fibro and they all say that exercise is key to lessen the

pain. The author of the book I mentioned has had fibro for 10 years.

She really seems to know all the " ins and outs " of fibro and how the

right exercise helps.

I didn't write that to offend anyone.

Re: health

I misread that last post. I thought you were somebody else...LOL..the

wonders of the internet. Oh, well. I did get some good info. and you

did say that you could have worded things better. It's just that I do

not " explain " or " excuse " myself for anybody. And some people were

writting to tell you what kind of excersize they do, like you were

the excersize police. And yes, it offended. But, let's get over it. K?

Life is too short. Shake?
